After having spent many a blissful evening, enjoying pints of lager and munching on beef crisps like most regulars, Peggy the pub-frequenting horse has now been banned by a Tyneside pub. The 12-year-old carthorse had been a patron of the pub ever since the day her owner, Pete Dolan forgot to secure her reins when he stepped inside the Alexandra Hotel in Jarrow. But after the pub underwent an expensive renovation, landlady Jackie Gray decided that Peggy could no longer be invited inside. Peggy still accompanies her 62 year old owner to the joint, though she is forced to watch the festivities inside the pub from a window. We have no word if the pub’s owners still offer her beer and snacks or not!
