When I was a kid we used to have family movie nights where we’d rent three blockbusters and watch them back-to-back over the course of the evening. But I guess my childhood obsession with Disney movies was nothing compared to the love of cinema that Toronto-based Suresh Joachim, and Claudia Wavra of Petersburg, Germany, have. Apparently, the duo has watched 57 films in 123 hours straight in a plexi-glass house in Times Square, NY. Dubbed the Netflix Popcorn Bowl, the record attempt began with eight challengers sitting down to watch 'Iron Man' on October 2 at 12:00 p.m. after 72 hours, only Joachim and Wavra were left standing and the deadly duo finished their stint by watching 'Thelma and Louise' until the end on 3:10 p.m. Tuesday. Even though the record attempt will take up to two weeks to be verified by Guinness World Record officials, I suppose the fact that Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon, personally paid a visit to the due to cheer them on, might just be reward enough!
