After taking over the human beings, dog and cat populations of the world, the obesity epidemic is hitting marine life too! Word is out that officials at the Kinosaki Marine World, in western Japan, have found a few dolphins on their premises that have gotten too fat to make high jumps during shows. Apparently, the marine beauties gained over 22 pounds just over the summer since the mackerel they were being fed on had gotten fattier! Of course, the keepers at the marine park immediately put the dolphins on a weight loss program, putting up a specialized exercise program for them and feeding them more white fish and less fatty mackerels. Officials noted that the diet and the exercise seemed to have worked and we fully expect some cuckoo diet doctor to use the dolphins’ weight loss regimen for the next big fad diet book too!
