Fossilized pregnant turtle finally goes public

Jaiyant CavaleSep 2 2008

What is it that makes us all awe-inspired when we look at fossilized animals? It just could be the fact that humans find something that has existed for millions of years, really bizarre and something that can't be comprehended easily. Now we hear that the ancestor of the modern turtle, which was found in a fossilized state in Canada, has gone public finally, 9 years after discovery. The 40 cm fossil is that of a pregnant turtle whose shell is crushed but the shape is still recognizable as that of a turtle's. Now we wonder if all of us who get buried turn in to fossils and will be exhibited somewhere by futuristic scientists, million of years later. Time and space are two things, which are better left to the philosophers and the physicists.
