Rattlesnakes rank among the most poisonous reptiles in the world. Here is a man who spends a complete 45 minutes with not one or two but 87 of them in a bathtub! It is a unlikely world record and bizzare thing to do for any normal man but for Jackie Bibby aka The Texas Snake Man this is just another day in his life.

On November 5, Bibby spent 45 minutes inside a trasparent bathtub along with 87 rattlesnakes. He broke his own previous record by 12 snakes, just in time for the Guinness World Records Day, which is being celebrated on Thursday, November 8. The feat was performed in front of a Guinness official who certified making Bibby achieve one more record.
A visibly happy Bibby said the snakes crawled under his arms, between his legs and whereever they could slither. Luckily none of them bit him.
Bibby minutes after coming out of his record making bathtub said,
They can go wherever they want as long as they don't start biting. The key to not getting bitten is for me to stay still. Rapid movement scares a rattlesnake. If you move real slow and gentle, that doesn't seem to bother them.
It was a bizzare spectacle as Bibby sat comfortably with pillow propped behind him in the dry tub with the rattlers. He wore regular clothes, and the snakes were wild and poisonous. Bibby's assistants placed the snakes inside the tub one at a time and removed them one at a time after the record was set.
The transparent bathtub was custom designed for Bibby by the Guinness records organization several years ago to shoot a television programme on his record. Since then Bibby has used the tub for subsequent attempts to break the record.
Bibby said,
I have set several world records in that bathtub.
The latest record is Bibby's biggest yet, last year he set a Guinness record by simultaneously holding 10 rattlesnakes by their tails in his mouth. That must have been quite a mouthful. But Bibby is not satisfied, he said he plans to break that record by squeezing in an 11th sometime during the next week.
Bibby who has starred in several movie, TV and theater roles such as Hostage on Plane, Hillbilly, Liquor Store Owner and Irate Bar Patron etc has several unrecognized records Apart from the certified records. These records include climbing into a sleeping bag head first with 20 rattlesnakes inside and going in feet first with 112 in the sleeping bag etc.
According to Bibby, he does these death defying snake acts and acts so that he is always in the limelight. Grinning at the all the attention he was receiving, Bibby said,
I do it for the attention. I like being on television. I signed autographs for 45 minutes today.
What a way to achieve fame!!!
